RE: Changes in DC Transfer and Recordation Taxes

In somewhat of a surprise move, the DC Council recently voted to roll back transfer and recordation taxes to 1.1% each from the current 1.5%. This change was buried in Bill 15-763 which is entitled "Fiscal Year 2005 Budget Support Act of 2004," and is schedule to take effect on October 1, 2004.
