RE: Maryland Recording Changes
Effective July 1, 2001, you will be required to have two separate checks for recording fees in the following counties:
- Baltimore County
- Carroll County
- Charles County
- Frederick County
- Montgomery County
Prince George's County will continue to require two checks also. Baltimore City is in the process of reviewing their procedures so you may wish to contact them on or after July 1, 2001.
The recordation tax (documentary stamps) check should be made payable to the County. The recording fees should continue to be made payable to the Clerk of the Court.
